Burnout Hypnotherapy & Stress Management in Solihull

★★★★★
I participated in a bundle of hypnotherapy sessions with Asha, and I honestly can’t put into words how much it has helped me. My patience, stress levels, and the way my brain processes things have improved massively.Over the years, I’ve tried other forms of therapy including CBT, person-centred therapy, and hypnotherapy for different reasons....

What really sets Asha apart is her positive approach and the way she educates you on how your brain works, how thoughts and feelings are formed, and why your mind functions the way it does. Having those valid reasons for “why” was genuinely fascinating and made everything feel far more understandable and manageable.

She also provides practical mechanisms to help recognise these thoughts and empower you to self-regulate, along with recommending helpful self-development resources such as podcasts, audiobooks, and books to support you on your journey outside of the sessions.

Asha is also exceptionally personable. I felt comfortable with her straight away. She’s non-judgemental, patient, and consistently professional throughout. That combination made it easy to open up and fully engage in the process.

The impact has been huge. I’m sleeping better, my relationships with loved ones have improved, and I feel far more resilient when things don’t go to plan. I genuinely feel calmer and more in control than I have in years. I will also continue to have the occasional follow-up session in the future to help maintain this progress.

While money can sometimes feel like a reason not to invest in something like this, it’s no different to paying for a gym membership, personal training, physiotherapy, or any other investment in physical wellbeing. Investing in yourself and your mental health is worth every single penny.

I cannot recommend Asha and mindAbility highly enough, she has truly helped change my life over the past few months.

Thank you Asha.

Everyone sees you as highly dependent and functioning, but on the inside, you are running on empty and willpower.

You may have already hit breaking point or had enough of existing like this.

signs-of-burnout-stress

Does this feel familiar?

  • You can’t switch off, even when you’re exhausted

  • Stress turns into anxiety, overthinking, or feeling on edge

  • Or you shut down, go numb, and feel disconnected

  • Your sleep is affected and your mind won’t stop at night

  • You’re more irritable, emotional, or flat

  • You feel guilty for not coping “better”

  • You’re functioning, but you’re not enjoying life

  • You keep thinking “once this week is done, I’ll breathe”… then the next week arrives and it all starts again

  • If this coincides with perimenopause or menopause, it’s often the missing piece — see how I work with that here.

How I can help ?

Why burnout happens

You’re finally recognising that the way you’ve been operating has been depleting you. Helping everyone else, running on empty yourself.

Your nervous system has two main settings, alert and recovery. Under normal stress, you move between them, tense up, then come back down. Burnout happens when you get stuck in the alert setting for so long that your body forgets how to properly downshift, even once the pressure eases off. That’s why a weekend off doesn’t fix it. The switch itself has stopped working, not just the workload.

The switch can be retrained. It’s a physiological pattern, and physiological patterns respond to the right kind of support.

Burnout in South Asian communities

South Asian communities sometimes describe this differently, as “tension,” a recognised term for chronic pressure that doesn’t always fit the Western burnout checklist but is just as real.

Research on the “model minority” pressure many South Asian professionals grow up with, the expectation to excel academically and professionally, often layered on top of family duty, links it directly to chronic stress and burnout that frequently goes unacknowledged.

If that’s familiar, burnout dressed up as duty, exhaustion you feel you’re not allowed to name, I work with South Asian clients specifically on this, and understand the layer most providers never think to ask about.

I also know that telling someone to think positive or to take the time to relax is likely to trigger a flow of abuse (well it has from me in the past). Trying to stop the racing the thoughts is not where we start and this what makes my wok so different to other therapists and coaches.

I use a blend of modalities to bring calmness to the body and peace to the mind- I’m trained and qualified to use the following techniques:

Tapping (EFT)

EMDR-informed support (where appropriate and suitable)

A quick personal note

I know what chronic stress and high-functioning anxiety looks like because I’ve lived it. For me it wasn’t burnout out of nowhere. It was stress building over time, pushing through, and putting everyone else first. Earlier support and stronger boundaries would have changed everything. That’s why I do this work.

If you want the fuller picture of what’s actually happening in your brain and body during burnout, I’ve written a longer guide here.

You deserve a quieter mind, a calmer body, and the ability to experience peace and contentment in everything you do.

What clients often experience

Most people come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck in their own head, and running on stress. As we work together, what they often notice is a shift towards feeling calmer in their body, clearer in their mind, and more able to cope with life without becoming consumed by it.

Clients often experience:

  • A quieter mind and better sleep

  • Less anxiety, overwhelm, and emotional reactivity

  • More confidence and self-trust

  • A calmer response to pressure

  • Stronger boundaries and more mental space

Please note: hypnotherapy is a strength-based approach. Everyone is different and results can’t be guaranteed. It works best when you’re ready to make changes, and it doesn’t replace medical care, so please keep your GP in the loop. Your FREE initial consultation is a 15-minute telephone consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Can you recover from burnout?

Yes it is possible though recovery is a process, not a quick fix. It usually involves relearning boundaries you’ve let slide, resetting expectations you didn’t realise had become unreasonable, and rebuilding your relationship with yourself as much as with your work. It’s rarely a straight line. You’ll have better weeks and worse ones, and that’s normal.

What I can tell you is what I see in practice. Many clients notice a calmer body and clearer head within the first few sessions, often just from finally feeling heard and having a plan. The fuller shift, better sleep, sustained focus, feeling like yourself again, typically builds over the course of the Burnout to Balance programme, with consistent practice between sessions.

We focus on what “better” actually looks like for you, specifically, from the first session. The first step is understanding what got you here, and that’s exactly what we talk about in your free clarity call.

For a more detailed breakdown of realistic timelines and what progress actually looks like week by week, my longer guide covers that in depth.

The most common thing clients say when they first contact me is: I don’t know how I got this bad. They’re exhausted all the time, they have no energy for family or friends, and they don’t love their job anymore. You feel disconnected from the person you once were and your sense of joy. You may look fine on the outside, but inside everything feels heavy, flat and overwhelming.

You’ve tried retreats and meditation, but the noise doesn’t switch off.  Everything feels too intense. If that sounds familiar, that’s burnout. And you don’t have to stay there.

I recovered from it, and I have helped many clients, too.

Absolutely, and this is far more common than people realise. Burnout builds up when multiple areas of your life are draining you simultaneously, a demanding job, relationship pressure, caring responsibilities, financial stress, or several stacked together. If a difficult manager or workplace culture is part of what’s driving this for you, I’ve written specifically about that pattern here.

Your nervous system treats all of it as one load, it doesn’t have different energy sources for them. Work stress and personal stress accumulate together, regardless of source, until you hit the same wall either way.

Solution-focused hypnotherapy addresses the whole person, not just the work part of your life. Most clients are surprised how much clearer things get once we stop treating work and home as two separate battles.

The five most common symptoms are: persistent exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix; emotional detachment from work and people you care about; reduced performance despite working harder; physical symptoms like headaches, poor sleep, or frequent illness; and a growing sense that nothing you do makes a difference. If you recognise three or more of these, it’s worth having a conversation. You can read more about the five stages of burnout, Book a free 15-minute call with Asha

Because willpower has always been your strategy, and this time it’s stopped working. That’s specifically what trips up high achievers. You’ve always been able to grit your teeth and get through, so when that stops working, it feels like personal failure rather than what it actually is, a nervous system with nothing left to draw on.

Grit is a strategy for ordinary tiredness. It has nothing to offer a depleted system, because the problem isn’t effort anymore, it’s resources you’ve run out of.

Hypnotherapy works directly with your nervous system rather than asking you to manage your mindset harder. That’s the practical difference between this and the coping strategies you’ve probably already exhausted.
